Hi,

I approved your project.

Just be sure to also fix the license notice in the READMEs :)

Hello

I hope this time reply go in a proper way :)

I've add a copyright notice in every source file and READMEs. I've also changed licence notice to follow the GPL howto. I hope that's it what you are talking about...

There's so many work to do in order to make project GPL licensed :)

Hi,

(Please try to use the tracker to reply to this evaluation, using the URL at the end of the notifications. I know this is not very clear, we're working on it :))

For the license notice to be legally acceptable, you need t o add a copyright notice, as described at http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html
Can you please add copyright notices before any license notice?

This requires a little change in the notice.

Currently, it reads "[...]; either version 2 of this License.". As you can see in the GPL howto, this part should be "either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version."

If you send another tarball with the changes above, it should be enough to accept your project at Savannah.

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GPL, you need to place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In this case, you added licenses notices, but you need to place copyright notices (see http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for details). You also need to do this for SQL files and graphics, possibly in a README file if it is inconvenient to place the notices directly in the files.

In addition, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL, available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.  To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example, see
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

Licensing under the "GNU GPL v2 only" is problematic.  Would you agree to license your project under the "GNU GPL v2 or later"?

The reason for this is that when we publish GPL v3, it will be important for all GPL-covered programs to advance to GPL v3.  If you don't put this in the files now, the only way to port your program to GPL v3 would be to ask each and every copyright holder, and that may be very difficult.

We can explain the issue in more detail if you wish.  If you have concerns about "GNU GPL v2 or later", we'd be happy to address them too.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

Project's goal is to create independent/client (a node) application for distributed database system. Application will help to fulfill mission of one of the largest Polish non-govermental organization (NGO) engaged in taking care of homeless people. Later it could be adapted for other NGOs.

Task, to be fulfilled:
1. Help to manage informations about organization's subjects.
2. Collect data from one region and prepare it to be spreaded to others.
3. Receive data from other regions.

The app. could be either independent entity or a part of distributed system - according to abilities and/or necessities.

I've already submit for project registeration (nickname nodenet), but I think it would be better to split it to 2 parts as they could be fully independent and probably licensed in another ways (GPL and LGPL).
