Oh, that was telegraphic style :-)  Nevermind, it is our fault that we haven't managed to provide a guide for the quiz.

> what next?

You should be able to commit translations in an hour.  Be careful, though, as you have write access for the whole www tree.

I also added you as a member of the "trans-coord" project.

Looking forward, please try to attract at least one member to the Tamil team -- even if she's not translating, it would be very useful to check your translations for errors and inaccuracies.

JFTR, could you please confirm that Sri Ramadoss is your name transliterated?

Good luck!

(Closing the task, since the "wwwta" project was created some time ago.)

Yes, that is the quiz. Although it is for prospective GNU Webmasters, most of the questions are still relevant.  You can omit No.7 or s/webmastering/translating/.

(I have committed free-sw.ta.html with a few minor changes, thanks.)

am currently translating the page on definition of free software.

http://nrcfosshelpline.in/Suzhi/கட்டற்ற_மென்பொருள்_-_விளக்கம்

will do it soon and please confirm whether the http://www.gnu.org/server/standards/webmaster-quiz.html is the questionnaire so that i can try to complete it at the earliest.

Regards..

Yavor, I guess you mean this questionnaire:
http://www.gnu.org/server/standards/webmaster-quiz.html

Then, I agree that having one more article and the quiz filled would be enough to approve the team.

amachu, I'm glad that your first translations are finally at gnu.org.  There were some minor errors, but these happen to everybody.  If possible, refill the paragraphs as they are in the English original -- that makes editing with Emacs on console or small screens easer.

Good that you're still interested in leading the Tamil team.

There are some further details on the translation process available at http://www.gnu.org/server/standards/translations/details.html.  Please read them carefully.

Alex, do you have any recommendations?  Ideally, I'd like to see one more article and the questionnaire filled.

amachu,
I'm sorry but we cannot convert those texts into HTML since
we don't know a word of Tamil ;)

Please, send the HTML version to <web-translators@gnu.org>
and make sure that only the translated text has changed,
not the HTML layout.  You probably should use a simple
plaintext editor for the job, since most visual HTML editors
rewrite the HTML files.

Thanks for your patience!

Please, send the HTML translation to web-translators and make sure that you don't make any changes in HTML layout, so the translated file works fine with http://validator.w3.org.

Thanks!

There is a typo, it is open-source-misses-the-point.html ("source" without an `s' in the end).

Richard Stallman recently requested:

all the translation teams to give high priority to translating
  http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/not-ipr.html and
  http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/open-sources-misses-the-point.html

Please, proceed with those translations first.
Thanks!

amachu,
it's been 2 months since we asked that you sent a few translations to <web-translators@gnu.org> for review, so you could be granted CVS write access.

Are you still interested in volunteering as the leader of the Tamil translation team for www.gnu.org?  Have you made any progress?

Thanks

Your project was approved and you should receive the details soon.

Please, make sure you get the source HTML files through CVS before starting to translate:
http://www.gnu.org/server/translations/cvs_savannah.html
And don't forget that your pages must conform to GNU Web site guidelines:
http://www.gnu.org/server/standards/

Finally, please send a few translations to -email is unavailable- for review, so you'll be granted full CVS write access to publish the translations by yourself.

Thanks!

Amachu, that's exactly what we need to know: that smrpnm was also you.

On the other hand, what do you mean when you say "give both e-mail address" ?  Sorry, but I don't understand.

We received a request to create a Tamil translation team from a different mail address and we need to know if both requests (the one sent to -email is unavailable- in August and this one) were sent by the same person.

Thanks!
