Once again, thanks for all your help.  You probably realized I am new to this.  I love using git provided by your site.

Thanks,

This project does exist for some time now. I assume this tracker item isn't necessary anymore and hence close it. :)

Hi,

you are still missing the words "or (at your option) any later version" in the source files' license block; also old FSF address is still used in the license block.

Please indicate your willingness to fix these last issues and I'll approve your project.  You'll be able to upload updated source files directly to SCM database.

Ok, here is a new version with an updated COPYING file.  However, I am not quite sure what to do regarding the GPL v2 or later version.  In the DISCLAIMER file I have:

"either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any
later version."

What else needs to be done?

Here is an updated version of the tarball.

Ira

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within two weeks I still do not get a reply, I will remove
your project.  You will still be able to register it again once
you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not,
please tell us--we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Hi,

any news here?

I will create a new tarball and repost.  I have checked and using "GPL v2 or higher" should not be a problem.

Thanks for your help and patience,
Ira

Sorry for the delay in response.

I don't think there is an issue with item #2.  However, I still have not found out about the license change.

I will try and find out for sure today or tomorrow.

I hope this will be ok.  Thanks for your time.

Thanks,
Ira

Hi,

Sorry for another delay.

I finally managed to compile your library. :)

However, there are some licensing issues:

1. You are using "GPL v2 only" approach which is not allowed at Savannah.  Would you mind switching to "GPL v2 or any later version"?

2. You have mistakenly modified the GPL text (in "How to Apply These Terms to Your New Programs" section).  You should not do that (see "Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim copies of this license document, but changing it is not allowed." at the top of the license text).

Also, the FSF address has changed.  You may find an updated version of the license here: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.txt

Please notify us if you are willing to make these changes.

I apologize for the inconvenience.  However, we are currently in the process of changing the plugin interface of OpenSM.  Therefore, the latest master branch of OpenSM renders that version of the plugin broken.  (I just verified that the errors are the same as yours.)

The plugin compiles against the last stable tag of OpenSM, which is 3.2.2.  (Git tag opensm-3.2.2)

Could you compile against that?

Thanks,
Ira

Hi,

Sorry for delay in review.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to compile your project.  I've downloaded and compiled OpenSM, I have libmysqlclient and libglib-2.0 installed, but still no luck.

I get the following errors:

src/opensmskummeeplugin.h:59: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'osm_log_t'
src/opensmskummeeplugin.c: In function 'add_to_head':
src/opensmskummeeplugin.c:62: error: 'plugin_data_t' has no member named 'lock'
src/opensmskummeeplugin.c:64: error: 'plugin_data_t' has no member named 'head'
...
(lots more)

Please suggest what could be wrong and how to compile your project.

Is there something I need to do to get this project submitted?  I posted a support request (#106404) regarding a duplicate submission.  Perhaps that is causing confusion?

If there is anything more required please let me know.

Thanks,
Ira

Registration Details

  • Name: libopensmskummeeplugin
  • System Name:  osmskummeeplugin
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Description:

OpenSM has a built-in performance manager that collects port errors and data counters from all the ports of an InfiniBand Fabric. To facilitate automatic recording of this data, a plugin interface was built to allow end users to connect OpenSM to their DB of choice. For more information on OpenSM or other Open Fabrics software, see http://www.openfabrics.org/.

LLNL uses a cluster monitoring tool called Skummee. This libopensmskummeeplugin provides the glue that allows Skummee to monitor the data collected by the performance manager. Scripts are provided for integration to Skummee. These scripts are not required to use the plugin; direct database queries are possible. In addition, a command-line interface tool is provided for most of the basic data mining operations. If not using Skummee, however, some of the included scripts and tools may not be available for use.

Other Software Required:

MySQL (http://www.mysql.com/)
Skummee (https://sourceforge.net/projects/skummee)
Perl (For easier DB set up)
Genders (https://computing.llnl.gov/linux/genders.html)
