The version you sent to me in email (attached here again for the record) is just fine.  I've approved the project.  Thanks for your  patience, and happy hacking!

I am little confused too.  I downloaded file #16578, storebackup-beta12.  I just checked again.  The README is unchanged between beta10 and beta12, as downloaded via the links on this page (https://savannah.gnu.org/task/?8605).

Maybe something in the savannah interface is confusing us.  Can you just email me (karl@gnu.org) the correct tarball?  It does indeed sound like you made all the changes.

Sorry for this confusion, wherever it's coming from!

Best,
Karl

I'm a little bit confused, so I just downloaded the tar file with the README again to be sure (file #16578):

Line 2:
Published under the GNU General Public License v3 or any later version

Line 55:
storeBackup is licensed under the GPL v3 or any later version

Where else should I add 'or any later version'?

I also changed all occurrences of Linux to GNU/Linux in all the documentation.
I added a copyright notice in all files. I changed the (old and now wrong) text about version 2 to version 3 and finally avoided the old and now wrong address of FSF.

So, I do not understand what do to additionally? Do you perhaps had a look into the old files instead of the new ones?

Best Regards, Heinz-Josef

Did you upload the file you intended?  I see that you added "or any later version" in several files, which is good, but the README  does not have it, and the other points I wrote about have not been addressed, as far as I can see.  Was something not clear?

Best,
Karl

Hello Heinz-Josef,

I finally had a chance to take a look at your tarball.  Per
https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/HowToGetYourProjectApprovedQuickly
there are a couple of things I need to ask you to change before we can approve the project:

- you used GNU/Linux in most places, but a couple instances of "Linux" remain in the README, and one in the ChangeLog.  Please fix this.  You're obviously aware of the issue, so I'd approve it anyway, except for:

- many of your small top-level files lack a copyright notice.  Please add the standard GPL notice (or something compatible, like the all-permissive license we use in GNU).

- and the README says "storeBackup is licensed under the GPL v3" (thank you), but please add "or any later version" to that statement to avoid confusion.  More importantly, the actual notice a few lines after that says "version 2 of the license", so that needs to be updated to avoid inconsistency.

- one final thing, the FSF hasn't been at 675 Mass Ave (given in the README) for some years :).  Please use the notice for GPLv3 that you used in the other files.

Sorry for the delay.

Thanks,
Karl

Hello,

what does "www.gnu.org" portion mean?
storeBackup is listed at
http://directory.fsf.org/project/storebackup/

Ok, this simply seems to be a misunderstanding ;-) . So, let it be a slip of the finger.

Please change it and let's proceed.
Regards, Heinz-Josef Claes

Hi -- I'm guessing you didn't really mean to submit this as "www.gnu.org portion"?  More probably "non-GNU software" and it was just a slip of the finger?

Let us know and we'll proceed ...

Thanks for thinking of Savannah,
