I have approved this project.  You will receive an auto-generated
email containing detailed information about the approval. Sylvain
toldme is a good idea to remove the "All right reserved" notice, but
not required
(http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/savannah-register-public/2010-04/msg00095.html).

Let me put the things clear about z130:

I'm the mantainer of z130 and I have postponed the development; but
z130 is free software.  Software don't build up by itself.  If you
need the documentation and regression test then implement it by
yourself or pay someone for do it.  Sugesstions are glady welcome but
criticism is not.

Also, this tracker is meant for track the evaluation process of Eads
Time Series Extensions.  I'm awaiting you remove the All Right
Reserved thing because it isn't need at all and may cause legal
problems.  I explained this in
https://savannah.gnu.org/task/?9475#comment10.

Google takes very little time, much less time than it takes to look at every source file for "All Rights Reserved". I am an avid contributor and supporter of many open source and free software projects. However, I do not contribute to projects without tests or with poor documentation. Until the original author (you) invests the time to bring the code up to a baseline, why should others? Writing code without decent documentation violates the spirit of collaborative software development. You are "philosophically pure" but that only gets you so far.

Any exeption to the GPL is allowed but what is the rationale behind
the "All right reserved" notice?.  It is not nessesary and may be a
legal problem because it contradicts the GPL header.  Please use the
full GPL notice (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html#howto) with
any aditional exeption you wish to put, but not the propietary "All
rights reserved" notice.

Also, the Ping is not a threat, but an reminder.  We delete the
projects when the mantainer don't resposne in more than a week in
order to keep clean the pending projects queue.

You can implement the missing feature yourself and senme a patch.  I
suppose you have the time and the will to contribute to z130 in the
very same manner as you had the time and the will to search something
to criticize of that project.  Don't you?.

It would be better for the free software community if you spent your time with tasks other than burdening free software developers with mundane tasks, many of whom have very little free time to develop free software outside their busy research schedules. For example, your z130 code is poorly commented and has no regression tests, http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/z130.git/tree/tiger_cmp_generic.c . Without a regression test, there is no way for us to know whether it works given platform differences.

Hi,

I'm really sorry it took so long to approve this project.  Only if you'd try prodding us after some time it could be acted upon in a much more timely manner. :)

Just a few more things:

1. Please note that FSF address has changed, so you better update license notices.  See: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html

2. It would be appropriate to remove "All Rights Reserved" statement from copyright notices.

3. Are python files are missing copyright and license notices completely.  Please add them to these files too.

Enjoy your stay.

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for responding to my request. I would indeed like to use Savannah to host my time series code. About eleven months ago, I submitted a request for a new project but did not receive a response so I assume I fell off the bureaucratic radar. If you are ready to approve and create the project, please do so, and I will move my code over there.

Thank you.

Kindest regards,

Damian Eads

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within two weeks I still do not get a reply, I will remove
your project.  You will still be able to register it again once
you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not,
please tell us--we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Hi,

Sorry for delay.

Are you still planning to use Savannah?  If not, please tell
us--this will make us gain some time to review other projects.

Hello,

please put the copyright&license header into every source file.
The file copying should contain the whole, verbatim text of the GPLv2.
