maybe you remapped some default Ctrl+keys? please show all keys from /key list that are related to "buffer up" you were seeing. also, the multiline script might be able to help you (even if in another way)

If I paste text from a pdf doc to IRC, Weechat detects it as a paste, but special chars are still considered as commands.
In my case, chars were interpreted as "buffer up" command, which caused bits of text to be pasted in different channels.
