Suggested fix (plus a few comments) applied in both, HEAD
and the 1.0 branch.

Thanks!

Hi,

In the vfcsanf function the array fltchars location 10 and 12 are set to zero to prevent multiple occurrences of the 'e' and '.' characters in the floating point conversion case statement. Unfortunately the array is not restored for the next value.

Thanks

Brent
