I assume that the poor download may be related to wrong firewall configurations and/or dead files on BT network.

yea that's realy strange, because my mldonkey-bt-downloads finish realy speedy and during download and when seeding all my bt-slots are used and my upstream is maxed

to be true, im too lazy to do that.. sorry (yeah i suck)
but i something with a friend:
we both started downloading the same file from the same tracker. now im still @ 85% and he got it already 4 days.
he uploaded alot of that file (maybe 2gb), but mldonkey didnt.. (around 120mb)
also the same with reshared torrents, 'thousands' of ppl want to download from my friend, but i do only have 5 uploaders in max. 10 upload queues!.. (sometimes 6 or 7 or 3)
somehow strange, isnt it?

can you do the folowing? perhaps it gives a clue, so i can understand what happens.
-put the mlnet binary (the 28g from spiralvoice) in a new empty dir
-start it and configure only the following:
-disable all networks except bt
-set log_size to 2048
-and log_file to a filename of your choice
-set verbosity to "mc ms up connect"
-stop the core put a .torrent that has leechers on it in torrents/seeded and put the corresponding directory in incoming/BT
-start the core
-verify with seeded_torrents that the torrent is seeded
-wait until you get some people in uploaders (and und until they should have uploaded if everthing would work)
-check again if your problem wasn't solved through using the default config
-stop the core
-gzip (better bzip2) the logfile und make it somewhere available, preferable per http (if it is ok for you, it contains filenames, IPs etc.)

there are, and the uploaders appear in upload-stats-table but all with 0k upload
sometimes there is 190kb up totaly for a client, but then its totaly silent again with 0kb/s :(

but there are torrents listed in seeded_torrents?
notice that the stats from mldonkey don't include bt.

i assume you have 128kbit upload.
try setting it to 22 .
i have set it to 0 and use traffic shaping from the linux kernel, but i think there is a bug that one must set it to the factor 2 of the value one wants it to be.

now i tried setting it to 120 kb/s upload (surely too much for my connection) but then it worked somehow
now i set it to 12 but upload is <8kb/s
any chance for tuning?

Tue 12 Oct 2004 05:54:30 PM UTC, original submission:
if upload rate isnt set to 0, there is no upload
all above -> no upload
even when i try to set it to 0, mldonkey totaly slows down to hell and my connection breakes up
this bug exists already a while
