I completely agree with you Baruch and I liked your solution. If it's possible I'll appreciate. Thanks.

The problem is that the HTML file generated in that address doesn't say anywhere it is a UTF-8 document.

The only place UTF-8 is mentioned is in the HTTP headers which are obviously not passed with websec.

A possible workaround in websec would be to figure out the http headers and write the appropriate header into the HTML code.

I was looking in the html source code generated by websec and It seems fine. The problem is that Firefox doesn't detect the proper charset when reading the websec html file.

If I force Firefox to use UTF-8 it display correctly.

But how does Firefox detect UTF-8 when accessing directly the website?

Is it a Firefox bug?

Websec 1.7.0 doesn't handle UTF-8 webpages properly. For instance:

http://www2.senado.gov.br/agencia

I'm using perl 5.8.5.

Thanks.
