My 2004-12-01 message referred to a workaround in cvs; the
'ChangeLog' entry is:

| 2004-12-01
|
| transferor.cpp
| Fix defect #11061 by recognizing combobox selections only when
| the combobox is closed. A function to ascertain whether or not
| a combobox is dropped down needs to be added to the wx library.

Personal email from Vadim dated 2005-08-16 indicated that he was
about to change wxComboBox::GetSelection() for wx-2.6.2 in a way
that would make any such workaround unnecessary. Accordingly,
the workaround added here:

http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewcvs/lmi/skeleton/transferor.cpp?sortby=file&r2=1.8&r1=1.7

was removed here:

http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewcvs/lmi/skeleton/transferor.cpp?sortby=file&r2=1.15&r1=1.14

Making selections in a combobox using the mouse is
difficult when trying to pick any available choices.

- Miscellaneous | Properties
- click 'Proscribe1' tab and you should see 'C' highlighted
in the combobox
- click the dropdown button and hover your mouse within the
combobox to select 'B'; you'll actually get 'A'
- the only way to make the desired selection is to click
the dropdown button and move the cursor outside of the
combobox area, making sure to horizontally align it with
desired selection before entering the combobox area

This behavior is repeatable regardless of the selection
you begin with. Typically, users click on a combobox
to view their options, hover over the one desired, and click
on their selection to enforce their choice.
