bug #11283: back slash escaping doesn't work in the replace part of regular expressions

This expression
s/bla\.bla/ble\.ble/
is inteded to replace "bla.bla" with "ble.ble", but it replaces it with "ble\.ble". Escaping with backslash doesn't work reliably in the replace part of regular expressions.

The correct behavior is that a backslash always espaces the next character, regardless of context.
