Modification to mhopt.pl has been checked into CVS that
should fix this problem. Any address-like string prefixed
by cid: will not be rewritten.

The next snapshot build can be used to test the changes.

I'm going to do a little research on this. It appears there
may be a fix for this. Unfortunately, ADDRESSMODIFYCODE
never sees the "cid:" prefix, so no expression for it can
work-around the problem.

It appears the fix must be in mhonarc's address detection
code and to check for cid: before invoking ADDRESSMODIFYCODE.
A problem is that someone could "hide" real email addresses
in a message by prefixing it with "cid:".

[Limitation]

This looks like a limitation. To keep things simple, address
detection is media-type neutral. I'm not sure having media-type
awareness is worth the effort and may complicate how related
resources are used.

An possible work-around is to set ADDRESSMODIFYCODE to check
for cid:, and if present, leave the address unchanged. Using
Perl's regex 'x' modifer allows you to use full expressions
in the substitute portion of the s/// operator when checking for
cid:. Send a follow-up if you need help in coming up with
a workable expression.

When spammode is on

When processing HTML mail, address detection can trigger
on things that aren't quite email addresses. For example,
<BODY id=ridBody background=cid:933261302@24112004-1397>
will get pounced on. This generally transforms valid HTML
to invalid HTML and causes mhonarc to produce warnings
like the following:

Warning: Trailing characters in:
id=ridBody background=cid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
