I managed to find the situation when this bug appears. Only on GUI, start editor, Alt+2, Alt+x -> crash.

There are actually two bugs.
1. I made a more robust consistency check in FileList (filenav.c) manipulations. At exit time, the list is manipulated although it is already freed (editor operates on dangling pointers).
2. The release of the Ctrl key in the editor is monitored for proper operation of Ctrl+Tab. The newly implemented keyboard handler of the GUI reports bCtrlReleased even when the key was not pressed, this results in calls to FileList manupulation at times it was not ment to happen.

Both will be fixed, probably tomorrow. It is late now and I'm tired.

Stack trace from the crash:

HandleFileViewEvents(int 1, _Event * 0x0012ff04, _View * 0x00afe7cc) line 261 + 8 bytes
ContainerHandleEvent(int 1, _Container * 0x00495700 _stRootContainer, _Event * 0x0012ff04) line 571 + 26 bytes
HandleEvent(_Event * 0x0012ff04) line 728 + 20 bytes
main2(int 2, char * * 0x00b00e90) line 820 + 9 bytes
WinMain(HINSTANCE__ * 0x00400000, HINSTANCE__ * 0x00000000, char * 0x0014231e, int 10) line 39 + 18 bytes
WinMainCRTStartup() line 198 + 54 bytes

Access violation in line fview.c(261). "pFile" is 0x00000001.
The file list is getting corrupted. At the end of GetFileListTop(), pFileItem points to garbage. pFileItem->stView is of particulr interest. It contains the se bytes: 'e','n','d',0xfd,0xfd,0xfd,0xfd,0x00 ....

pFileList->nNumberOfFiles is 1.

Hope this helps.

Signed,
Grandfather Frost.

Build 36 (from CVS) crashes very frequently. (Much more than b33). I am using the Win32 GUI version.

The crashes usually happen when closing a window or exiting the editor. I haven't had time to pinpoint the exact problem yet, but it is not an assertion failure!

Another strangely disturbing (and yet surprisingly exciting! ) symptom is that occasionally the editor stops loading the files correctly. After a certain point it starts opening files with completely different names from what specified. I don't remember (I will make a note when I run into this again), but it is possible that wrong file is already open in memory.
