I can verify this problem. When scanning for devices graveman detects my LiteOn burner as a cd-rom. I can manually add the burner using /dev/hdx, then it device is seen as a burner.

In 0.3.6, hardware detection was ok : a ATA:1,0,0 dvd reader and a ATA:1,1,0 cd burner.
Now it only detect 1,0,0 and 1,1,0 so that the type isn't ok and set it only as 2 readers. The cd burner does'nt remain after clossing graveman.
Changing source (ATA:1,1,0 or /dev/hdd or ATAPI:0,1,0) does'nt set it as a burner.
Adding manually 2 entries with ATA:x,y,z or /dev/hdx fix the probleme
