You were correct Sylvain. I didn't have either mad.h or id3tag.h on my Fedora 3 system. I had to install both the libmad-devel and libid3tag-devel RPM's. After that, both files are now present. I've recompiled graveman and I now have MP3 support enabled.

Thank you so much!

Bob

CD-R/CD-RW detection:
Ok, I will try to correct this in few release.

Window title:
No problem, I will correct this in next release.

Compilation:
I think you have not libmad developpement files
on your system. Can you type "locate id3tag.h" and
"locate mad.h" ? Do you find those 2 files ?
Package should be named libmad-devel-****.rpm

Well done Sylvain...0.3.8 did the trick! graveman's auto detection of my Lite On burner was perfect this time. I had to do nothing...the burner was detected as a burner and with the correct speed values.

Also fixed is the "operation failed" error I was seeing as reported in another bug report. However, getting past this bug has brought another issue to the surface.

When I have my files added to the queue, I select the "Write Tracks" button. A window pops up asking me if I want to create the data CD. This window also gives me the option of blanking a CD-RW before I write. As I'm using CD-R's, I just figured graveman would know this and ignore the blanking command. This is not so. Graveman tries to blank my CD-R, fails, and reports an error that it "Cannot blank disk, aborting." A correct error, but annoying as I was expecting graveman to somehow know it didn't have CD-RW media to burn.

Now I know I can change the preference to where I have to select the check box if I want to blank a CD-RW, which is what I have done. Shouldn't this state (the preference with the box unchecked) be the appropriate default?

I'm still puzzled as to why, when I compile from source, graveman does not compile with MP3 support. When I installed the 0.3.7 RPM from the graveman site MP3 support was active. I (obviously) have all the dependencies met or the RPM wouldn't provide MP3 support. Yet I can see as I run ./compile that the compiler isn't seeing some MP3 related lib's. Does Fedora put these into an odd location that only an RPM file can pick up?

Lastly, I've attached a screenshot of the window to add files to a data CD. The window is titled "select iso image source." This seems incorrect to me as I'm not burning an iso, I'm selecting files to burn to a CD. When I add audio files to an audio CD, the window is (properly) titled "Select an audio file to add." For your info, I've also included my graveman.conf file in the zipped attachment.

HTH,

Bob

Again, can you test with last release ?

Thanks,
Sylvain

Installed from 0.3.7 RPM at the graveman site. Also tried by compiling from the 0.3.7 source with the same results. Using Fedora Core 3.

As a non-root user, it appears that graveman is thinking my CD burner is a DVD burner as the speed choices only go from 2x to 12X (and maximum,of course) rather than all the way up to 52x as previous versions did for my 52x24x52 CD burner. If I login as root, the speed detection then works OK. As non-root I can edit the graveman.conf file and change the burner speed from 12 to 52...this works fine. The attached file has the speed changed to 52 by me...all the rest of the values are from graveman.

I have the same problem as Bug #11981...only detects my CD burner when I add it manually. Otherwise my burner is detected as a CD-ROM (other device). Problem with auto detection?

I'm also getting an "Operation failed" error when trying to burn any type of CD. I've attached a screen shot of where the burn fails. I was trying to burn a data CD here, but audio CD's fail the same. I've also attached my graveman.conf file if that is of any help. I've been able to burn successfully audio and data disks under all previous versions of graveman.
