I built and installed graveman 0.3.8 and immediately ran it as normal user. It showed device scanning dialog but did not find any devices. Then I pressed scan devices button and it did not find anything. When I switched to the backends tab I noticed that cdrecord and mkisofs were maked as absent (although they are installed in my /usr/bin).

Pressing "find backends" and then "Scan devices" buttons worked, but it took some time to understand that Graveman may have failed to run cdrecord.

A simple automatic re-detection of backend paths and a warning message if that fails would prevent this in future. Anyway, Graveman cannot work without at least cdrecord/mkisofs.
