SUBDIRS tested and ok on Solaris, and DEC.

BUT

We won't make our makefile system work with non gmake
make tools for now since gmake should be available
almost everywhere
and conditionnal (ifeq etc..)
usable with gmake is really handy.

Makesubdirs simplified.
Should work, waiting for test before closing.

Seems we have problem when using
Solaris 2.8 make.
Does not occur with gmake used on the same system.
