Does this have anything to do with Dazuko? If you compile your kernel with capabilities as a module, but then load commoncap and capability modules, then you have the same thing as if you had built-in capabilities. Try just loading commoncap and capabilities (and no dazuko). If the problem has gone away, then it is a Dazuko issue. If the problem still exists, than something else in the kernel isn't configured correctly (or perhaps the ftp daemon needs a different kernel).

Also, make sure you are using Dazuko 2.0.6-pre2 (or Dazuko 2.0.6, after it is released) because there were several fixes regarding capabilities.

One more thing - since recompiling to new custom kernel w/o security, ftp server lost it's security? Here's what happens from terminal side: Followed your procedure posted on web site for FEDORA2. Are you aware of any fixes/mods for this?
Thanks!

Hi,

The old posts are still there:

https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/index.php?func=detailitem&item_id=9672

Security modules should be loaded in this order:

1. commoncap
2. dazuko
3. capability

This problem has returned upon rebuilding the same server (Fedora Core2). I recompiled the kernel so dazuko would ./configure correctly and rebooted. Kernel running now is: 2.6.10-1.770_FC2custom. Just won't take the module insmod.

How did we fix this last time???

Thanks

Jonathan
