Wed 31 Aug 2005 10:24:07 PM UTC, comment #14:

I am using graveman 0.3.12-4 and it is recognizing my CD/DVD-Writer as a "CD Recorder" only.

I can write DVD .iso files and then burn them with growisofs jst fine. But graveman does not want to burn DVDs.

My writer is a NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A.

Here is the output of "cdrecord -prcap dev=/dev/hdc":

Great looking program!! I want to finally replace k3b, and this looks like it's headed in the right direction!

Anyways, I have the same problem and I'm using a "Logitec" external USB2/Firewire DVD+RW drive. Inside the case is a Ricoh 5125A DVD+RW.

Note: I can use k3b and tkDVD to write DVD+RW's with this drive (when logged in as root). Logging in as root when running graveman does not seem to make a difference.

My info...

Just a thought: My burner can't burn DVD-R/DVD-RW but it burns DVD+R/DVD+RW.... Could it have something to do with it?

Hmm, yes, it appears that cdrecord doesn't detect drive as dvd-writer, even after I've upgraded to the latest firmware; here is the output:

Btw, I can write DVD+-R/RW with growisofs without any problems.

Yes, I can see now, that this problem has nothing to do with Graveman...

Hi,

Can you type "cdrecord -prcap dev=/dev/hdc" and

Hi and thanks for response.

I've built graveman 0.3.10 from source, but the problem with device detection still persists. Config attached.

I have LITE-ON DVDRW drive (LDW-411S) and its type is detected as "CD Recorder". As a consequence, I can not burn DVD disks :(
