With graveman 0.3.12 it works, but i had to turn the ide-scsi emulation on. Weird, 0.3.8 worked fine without this.

Hello again!
I made a small (but probably significant) mistake: graveman 0.3.8 (not: 0.3.9) works here correctly.

Hi!
I opened the "Edit a device" dialog and tried to change location field, but there is only one choice: ATAPI:0,0,0. Also when I try to add manualy new device with different bus id, the warning comes: "Cannot add this drive !".
I tried to execute `cdrdao disk-info --device ATAPI:x,0,0` with different x'es, but the results are the same.

Hi,
Can you try to switch drive "bus" with "Properties/Devices" dialog. Double-click on a device to list available bus.
Thanks,
Sylvain

Hello!
I've got similar problem. 0.3.9 worked fine, but 0.3.10 stops every time with message "please insert a CDR/RW in the drive".
There is an blank (made by `cdrecord blank=fast`) cd-rw in the recorder:
% cdrdao disk-info --device ATAPI:0,0,0
Cdrdao version 1.1.9 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty
Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables.
Using libscg version 'schily-0.8'
ERROR: Inquiry command failed on 'ATAPI:0,0,0'.
ATAPI:0,0,0: Rev:
ERROR: Inquiry failed and no driver id is specified.
ERROR: Please use option --driver to specify a driver id.
ERROR: Cannot setup device ATAPI:0,0,0.
%
I don't know why, drive works correctly with cdrecord and older graveman versions.
My tools doesn't accept dev=/dev/hdc (Debian Sid).

Hi,
That depends if it is a problem with CD or DVD disc.
Bug #12601 is related to CD, look bug #12577 for dvd.
Thanks,

Hi,
I've got the same problem so maybe I can provide more information. My dvd-writer is a native IDE device but scsi-emulated. Therefore `cdrdao disk-info --device /dev/scd1' (with an empty dvd in drive) outputs:
Cdrdao version 1.1.9 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty
Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables.
Using libscg version 'schily-0.8'
/dev/scd1: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4082B Rev: A207
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)
That data below may not reflect the real status of the inserted medium
if a simulation run was performed before. Reload the medium in this case.
CD-RW : no
Total Capacity : 00:00:00 (-150 blocks, -1/-1 MB)
CD-R medium : Doremi Media Co., Ltd.
Long Strategy Type, e.g. Cyanine
Recording Speed : n/a
CD-R empty : yes

Hi,
Can you type "cdrdao disk-info --device /dev/hda1" command when your CD-R is in the drive and
forward me the output (replace /dev/hda1 with your real device) ?
Thanks,
Sylvain
