monotone 0.18 (base revision: e8c9e4eb0534a4c6e538935576330de34ec42052)
Running on: Linux 2.6.10-ac9 #5 SMP Sat Jan 15 09:54:00 NZDT 2005 i686

I am seeing this error with large files. In my case I see a 'oversized payload of '421,766,624' bytes'. I can certianly hack constants.cc as mentioned below, but this arbitrary file size limit is problematic.

I've bumped the netcmd payload limit to 256 megs.

It does still use a lot of memory, but that's a separate problem, fixable if it starts causing people problems...

In constants.cc, netcmd_payload_limit is set to ~16MB. This is the limit the test is running in to.

Note that while this test is running monotone consumes ~250MB of memory, so simply increasing netcmd_payload_limit is not going to work as a long term solution.

After adding a large (32MB of random data) file to a monotone database successfully, a remote client will fail during a pull of the large file.

monotone: fd 6 (peer 127.0.0.1:38118) read failed, disconnecting
monotone: ticks: >="bytes in"/256, <="bytes out"/256, c="certs in"/3, r="revs in"/1
monotone: ><cr<>c>r>
monotone: warning: caught bad_decode exception decoding input from peer localhost:5555: 'oversized payload of '33559619' bytes'

I have commited testcase #176 (t_netsync_largish_file.t) to net.venge.monotone.
