I would rather not have fork touch the archive. Right now, the only commands that add revisions to the archive are commit and tag. Also, people may be in the middle of modifying a tree when they decide to fork. They still need to finish the changes before they can commit.

Based on the example in the manual, it seems like doing a fork should always automatically do a commit. Or, at least it should do it by default.
