This issue has been closed because it hasn&#039;t been touched for years, as the development continued on GitHub. If the issue is still present in a recent version, please re-open it under https://github.com/rdiff-backup/rdiff-backup/issues after having made that it&#039;s not already reported there.

i backup from a lvm snapshot... and today the snapshot filled for the first time (i.e. no more space for copy-on-write) -- which causes further fs accesses to result in EIO... rdiff-backup kept trying and trying until i noticed and killed it...  rdiff-backup should probably fail after a certain number of EIO errors unless --force is used.
