what's the output of cdrecord -prcap dev=yourburningdevice?
is it being detected as x,y,z ATA:x,y,z or ATAPI:x,y,z?

I had this bug too on Fedora Core 4 and NEC 3520A DVD recorder, I delete it and add the device menually as suggested in the previous post and it is working now.

Troubleshoot:
Re-configure device in "Setup"-"Devices", delete all and specify device manually. For example: GSA-4160B on ATA:1,0,0 or /dev/cdrw.

I have this problem too. I have DVD DVDRAM GSA-4160.
missed menu for CD burning. (dvd burning menu is ok).

I own a BENQ DW1620 DVD recorder and graveman perfectly recognizes it. But unfortunately it allows no CD burning features with that device: At Audio CD mode the 'Write to' select list is empty, while the Data CD mode's 'Write to' select list shows only the 'ISO file ...' option. The Data DVD 'Write to' select list perfectly list my DVD recorder.
