This should be fixed in mainline; aborted commits now save your commit message to MT/log, so that when you hit commit again, your editor will automatically come up with your last commit message pre-loaded.

While editing the log message for a commit, I noticed a typo in one of
the changes and fixed it. When I saved the log message monotone
aborted with...
monotone: misuse: file 'flash/exec.c' modified during commit, aborting
... which is fine by me, except the detailed ChangeLog I had typed up
was lost entirely. It would be nice if the log were written to MT/log
or to a temporary file, such as...
