Probably Samu just made a typo and the first URL is supposed to be something like "www.myaddress.org". But your points, Giedre, are valid. Can you discuss this with Samu and Teemu and then make appropriate changes and close this bug?

I don't understand this:

> Please notice that you cannot just enter web page addressess >like:
>http://www.myadress.org (BAD)
>but that you need to specificy the protocol first:
>http://www.myaddress.org (GOOD)"

The text about copy/pasting from another webbrowser window is more about general Internet browsing skills, we also have this in our User Manual. Do we really need this here?

If you try to add a link to webtop without giving a protocol (ftp:// , http:// , etc), then you will get a terse feedback:

"Please enter a valid URL"

Is it possible to adhere to good error message standards:

1. What happened (why you got an error)?
2. What can you do to fix it now?
3. How can you avoid it in the future?

In this case:

"It appears that the URL address you typed is incorrect.

Please check that it begins with http:// or ftp:// or other web address protocol you want to use.

Please notice that you cannot just enter web page addressess like:

http://www.myadress.org (BAD)

but that you need to specificy the protocol first:

http://www.myaddress.org (GOOD)"

If you are unsure what is the right protocol for your web address, try copying and pastying the full URL from your web browser."

I KNOW this will add a lot of translation work, so we need to consider this first before adding long document/error message /help strings.

Unfortunately I don't see many options, except adding proper instructions.
