Maybe you don't see the problem with so many files and networks. If you only download 1 file you might see a difference and better focus on problems. You might also see that other clients download faster on ed2k when only using ed2k, even mulus if you focus on 1 file rather than total speed of 100 files.

I have all compilable network modules present in the core, maybe
this is responsible for the 40+ MB RAM usage on startup.

I will investigate the CommonResult problem.

I am downloading 100+ holiday movies simultaneously all the time on
EDK, Overnet and Kademlia and never have 60+ MB RAM usage. ~25% of
these files are popular ones with sometimes 1000+ sources. RAM
usage is stable over several days.

The core takes 30MB? Where do you get this information from?

I start mlnet and it takes 15 megs.

Do some searches, and forget them. The results are never removed from CommonResult and memory use goes up.

Only activate edonkey (no overnet or kad) and download some big popular files for a few days. 8 hour testing is not enough.

Here RAM usage is rock stable since the Overnet mem leak patches.
The core takes about 30 MB for itself, the rest is data.
Your 42MB seem absolutely all right for me.

I also think it uses too much ram.

I have 43megs in use by mlnet after 2 days.

The only known memory leak is in the Overnet/Kademlia module.
If you enabled one of both networks please try patch #4118 and
report in the patch if it solves the memleak for you. Here it does.

how do you expect ppl to look into it if you don't give more details ?

Should be "closed" with reason "useless report"
