It looks like I completely misunderstood the purpose of the command. Is there a reason you would use this command on only one vserver? Would it be possible to also add the following to the usage verbage?

--
Additional usage: /usr/sbin/vsomething [--quiet|-q] [--debug] vserver --all -- <cmd> <params>+

Example:

/usr/sbin/vsomething vserver --all -- exec df -h
--

Thanks for your help!

Kevin

'vsomething' does not operate in this way; to make it short, you probably want something like

| vsomething vserver --all -- exec w

resp.

| vsomething vserver --all -- exec df

E.g. with existing vservers A and B, the 'vsomething w --all' command would expand to

| w A
| w B

My commands would expand to

| vserver A exec w
| vserver B exec w

If I run `vsomething w --all` or `vsomething df --all`, it does not properly report the output of the command inside the vserver.

For example:

The output of the `vsomething w --all` for one of the vservers is:

w: operating on vserver test
09:12:02 up 17:18, 2 users, load average: 0.09, 0.15, 0.16
USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE JCPU PCPU WHAT

The output of `vserver test exec w` is:

09:12:13 up 17:18, 5 users, load average: 0.08, 0.14, 0.16
USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE JCPU PCPU WHAT
ftpuser pts/2 domain.net 08:34 20.00s 0.09s 0.00s vi infobox.html
root pts/3 domain.net Wed16 16:47m 0.03s 0.00s tail -f error_l
root pts/5 domain.net Wed16 22:25 0.02s 0.02s -bash
root pts/6 domain.net Wed16 16:24m 0.03s 0.00s vi infobox.html
root pts/1 domain.net 09:00 13.00s 0.03s 0.03s -bash

Another example:

vsomething df --all:

df: operating on vserver test
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sdb3 6040320 3130744 2602736 55% /

vserver test exec df

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdv1 2000000 1486192 412244 79% /
none 153600 0 153600 0% /tmp
