The additional comment was just pointing it out, as it's v.uncommon that upstreams use more the one accepted spellings for the same word.

If there is no new response in one week I'll close that bug and keep the spelling as is.

gnugo.texi now builds fine. It indeed had a , in a @quotation arg.

Thanks for the report, it allowed me to notice a bug, namely that @quotation was considered to have a second argument. When I added a , on the @quotation line it broke with a function not defined or the like but it had been unnoticed before as this is a very unlikely situation.

I fixed the bug by removing the handling of the quotation second arg, and it also removed the only call to normalize_space.

Now regarding the spelling normalise is the british variant of normalize, so maybe we can keep it that way?

There seems to be a spelling error in texi2html 1.76 (which is now in Debian and that I am now maintaining), it seems that you have created/used a function called "normalise_space()" however in 1.76 on line 13756 it has been called as "normalize_space()" which actually fits better into the program I must say because everywhere else i've seen normalize is spelt that way, not with a s in the program.

Note the code is still like this in CVS (not sure what line though sorry).
