If you do a search against the G2 network (by selecting it explicitly in the web search page), most of the time, you don't get any results.
But, if you do get some (probably once you're connected to enough ultrapeers, which takes ages), the search results are all wrong:
- for results coming from a Shareaza client (i.e. results that come from the network with all 3 forms of hashes - MD4, SHA-1 and Tiger), the files are listed as belonging to the Donkey network. The fake check link shows a SHA-1 hash, but Sancho (which uses the binary protocol) gets an MD4 hash (urn:ed2k:). This is probably because MLdonkey gets confused with having multiple forms of hashes (including an eDonkey-type MD4) for the same file. And if you try to download such a file, the download is started on the Donkey network instead of the G2 network.
- for results coming from a MESH client (i.e. having only a SHA-1 hash), the files are correctly identified as G2, but the file names consist of a long series of underscores (both in the web UI and in Sancho), although the tooltip in the web UI does display the real file name. And if you try to download such a file, nothing happens (it does not appear in the downloads list)
FYI, the last version I used that was working with G2 was 2.5.16w-2, from the svn repository (now called mulus).
