Thanks for your bugreport.

If apt-get complains as well it's likely that the problem is your local archive. Have you tried to set it up with and without a Release file?

Here is a link that may help:
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/repository-howto/repository-howto.html

Hm, this blank box in screenshot3 does not look good. Could you please send me details about your archive layout and your sources.list file by mail (either to the synaptic-devel mailinglist or to me personally)?

I close the bug mostly because I don't like working with savannahs buginterface. I'm still interessted where this empty listbox comes from.

Cheers,
Michael

Sorry, i was too quick !
I have also problem with apt-get.

I receive just this message: cannot retrive file because md5sum incorrect, you need to launch apt-get update or to try with --fix-missing

I will try to change the ftp server to proftpd instead of vsftpd, may be it helps.

Hello,

while i try to install packages from a local ftp server under Debian Sarge (vsftpd server) on my Destop PC also under Sarge, Synaptic blocks during the download whith a popup error message: some packages cannot be downloaded, would you continue without these packages, yes or no ?

But, after a second try all is ok, the files are downloaded and installed fine.

I have no problem with apt-get, only when i use synaptic, and only with the local ftp server.

I can see no errors in the log, is there a verbose output for synaptic ? (the screenshots are in french)
