Enlightenment WM doesn't have trayicons. At least not by default. Would it be possible to detect the presence of a tray, and in it's absence, avoid using it?

when closing the GTK2 GUI (from the 'X' of the window decoration), we hide the window and create a new dock window (as per X11 standard).
If enlightenment WM has a dock area, an icon should appear in this area.
See also task #4694
It will be soon modified so that the GUI acts as described by Sylvain.

GTK-2 gui

It was from the mldonkey-2.6.4.ebuild, which has now been obsoleted by mldonkey-2.6.4-r2.ebuild

The USE flags that I used was gtk2:
-gtk gtk2 -oldgtk -guionly -batch -threads -gd -doc -mozilla

Which GUI are you using? MLDonkey has three of them.
You could also post the USE flags used by the MLDonkey ebuild.

Although mlgui exits fine if i Quit (Ctrl-W), if i try to close it's window (i'm using enlightenment WM), it does not exit.

When I try to "pkill mlgui" (TERM signal), it outputs:
2005/10/08 18:07:28 Exception poll failed: Interrupted system call in Select.loop
.. but does not exit.

The only way to stop the program at this stage is to pkill -9 it (KILL it)
