Known bug, MLDonkey core was compiled with glibc-2.3.2, your
Linux OS has glibc 2.2.x. Read the note on my page:
http://download.berlios.de/pub/mldonkey/spiralvoice/
"This core does not to work on glibc 2.2 systems as it was compiled on a glibc 2.3.2 system."
Look here for more details:
http://mldonkey.berlios.de/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=18429#18429
Solution: Compile MLDonkey yourself, instead of using a pre-compiled core.
Here is a compile howto:

Mlnet starts normally.

I can connect with telnet interface on 4000/tcp.

However, the core crashes when I connect with Sancho and the following error is output by mlnet to stderr:

mlnet: gconv.c:58: __gconv: Assertion `outbuf != ((void )0) && outbuf != ((void *)0)' failed.

Sancho version 0.9.4-52 under WinXP.
Mlnet mldonkey-2.7.0.static.i386-Linux.tar.bz2 from main site.
Linux i686 model name : Pentium III (Coppermine)
Red Hat Linux release 7.3 (Valhalla)
