Not a bug in monotone -- we've just added some more capabilities to monotone since 0.26pre2 was released, and one of the branches at venge.net is already using them. The full description and workaround are here:

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.monotone.devel/6128

Hope that helps!

I followed the steps on http://www.venge.net/monotone/self-hosting.html and got this while pulling the sources from venge.net:

$ alias mo="monotone"
$ mo -d monotone.db pull venge.net "net.venge.monotone*"
monotone: setting default server to venge.net
monotone: setting default branch include pattern to 'net.venge.monotone*'
monotone: setting default branch exclude pattern to ''

monotone: this is almost certainly a bug in monotone.
monotone: please send this error message, the output of 'monotone --full-version',
monotone: and a description of what you were doing to monotone-devel@nongnu.org.
monotone: discarding debug log (maybe you want --debug or --dump?)

I attached the --debug output.
