Apparently this pops up because the database is created in the root of the filesystem. It works fine if I trigger the above commands in any subdirectory.

monotone is installed on Win2k 5.00.2195 (SP4). The options '--debug' or '--dump' do not bring up additional information.

H:\>mtn db init
mtn: fatal: std::exception: boost::filesystem::path: invalid name "/-journal" in path: "H://-journal"
mtn:
mtn: this is almost certainly a bug in monotone.
mtn: please send this error message, the output of 'mtn --full-version',
mtn: and a description of what you were doing to monotone-devel@nongnu.org.
mtn: discarding debug log, because I have nowhere to write it
mtn: (maybe you want --debug or --dump?)

H:\>mtn db init --db=test.mtn
