I know this was assigned to genix but I got tired of not being able to play the latest CVS version with windows users so I went ahead and fixed the bug by renaming "Rectangle" to "globRectangle" in mapedit.cpp and mapedit.h. Everything seems to be working fine (it compiles and runs fine) and while the map editor seems ok I didn't spend alot of time testing it.

Just tried cross-compiling myself and ran into the exact same error message.

Well, it looks like the Rectangle definition conflicts with the target system own's definition of Rectange (the error talks about HDC which probably stands for "Handle to Device Context", a windowish stuff). A clean solution would be to change the name of Rectangle to something more precise.

I let Bradley decide as it's his code.

CC = i586-mingw32msvc-gcc

that's exactly the compiler the howto on crosscompiling istructed me to use.

That looks allot like a bug with the gcc version your using. I can't fix it, I can only tell you that you may need a different version.

I just tried a crosscompile and got to compile many files until all of a sudden:

In file included from Glob2.cpp:26:
MapEdit.h:179: error: type/value mismatch at argument 1 in template parameter
list for `template<class T0, class T1, class T2, class T3, class T4, class
T5, class T6, class T7, class T8, class T9> class boost::tuples::tuple'
MapEdit.h:179: error: expected a type, got `Rectangle(HDC__*, int, int, int,
int)'
MapEdit.h:179: error: ISO C++ forbids declaration of `type name' with no type
MapEdit.h:183: error: syntax error before `&' token

as MapEdit.h has been changed recently i guess that this is not only a mingw issue.
