I have temporarily commented out the section of code that actually applies custom flag settings and uploaded it onto CVS. Now anytime a flag is placed in the game it will always be 1 (the default) regardless of what is specified in settings menu. Can someone run some tests with it and see if it still causes desyncs. If so then I will see what I can do to add the feature back in without causing desyncs.

I was the one that added the ability to customize flag settings however I only changed the GUI, never touched the core engine. If it's true that different flag settings are causing a desync then it must mean glob2 only transmits building placement over the network and doesn't transmit the amount of globs working on it assuming default values. I'll take a closer look into this and see if I can get the network to recognize different values for building placement but it may be beyond my abilities. If so I'll disable customized flag settings to make the game playable again.

World desynchronisation at executeUStep 591.
player 1 has a checkSum=be8b0c16
player 0 has a checkSum=be8b0d16

I could reproduce this error by running 2 instances of glob2 on my machine. It occured only when having changed flag-settings on one machine.

Dump full game memory
glob2: NetGame.cpp:977: Order* NetGame::getOrder(int): Assertion `false' failed.

dumped data will be uploaded shortly.

Problem occured when we played 2Windows vs. 2Linux
