You're right, it is in System - Preferences. But I don't know why I have it also in Applications - Internet menu(Ubuntu Dapper Drake, GNOME 2.14, MN 2.12). Never mind; Thanks for accepting the icon, I appreciate that, keep up good work on MN! :-)

MN is in the System -> Preferences menu, not the Applications menu, but anyway you are right that a specific icon would be more appropriate. Since your set is fine, I'm going to use it in the next version. Thanks!

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, mail-notification.png is the file I am talking about. Using stock_mail icon from the theme is perhaps good idea but I am afraid that it can confuse user browsing the "Applications" menu. The user can be mistaken by the icon as the metaphor says that the application is more likely a mail reader app then a notifier app (of course that this can happen only in case that he just does a quick look on icons during the search for mail reader and does not read the description). On this account it would be better to have it a bit different from general stock icon for mail.

If you are talking about mail-notification.png, it will be removed in the next version (I'll use the icon theme's stock_mail like I do now for the tray icon). Thanks anyway.

Hi, I've noticed that the current icon of Mail Notification does not fit very well among icons of new Gnome-In-Tango icons set.

So, I created a proposal for new icon of your application during the Tango Friday (3.11.2006). (You can view this icon on Tango Fridays page [1])

The set of icons in all required resolutions is attached to this bug-report including SVG version of the icon(the source). Icon is licensed under GNU GPL license.

Hope you like it. Please inform me about your decision by mail cornelius (at) vybiral (dot) info.

sincerely
Josef "cornelius" Vybíral
