There should be several levels for error handling.
Suggested: STRICT, LOOSE and NONE.
STRICT will raise exceptions on all data not in compliance with the RFC.
LOOSE will validate, but warn instead of raising exceptions. We must device a plan to store error information in attributes and components.
NONE will do no validation or checking at all.
