Feedback timeout. If this problem is still present, please report it in the new bug tracker (https://bugs.launchpad.net/mail-notification/).

You're probably confusing "new mail" and "seen mail". If Thunderbird is not running, the "Display seen mail" option is disabled and you receive a new message, does MN display it?

Yes Jean-Yves, enabling "Display seen mail" does make it work...
But shouldn't mail-notification show new mails without it?!

I only found evolution support on "add acount" feature. Where is thunderbird support?

Is the "Display seen mail" option enabled (in the general tab of the properties dialog)?

I have the same problem. I am running Gentoo linux, Mozilla Thunderbird V1.5.0.9, and mail-notification V4.0-rc2. When I receive a new email it does not trigger the mail notification icon. The file name that is being monitored for this account is:
file:///home/greg/.thunderbird/q53outh7.default/Mail/Local%20Folders/Inbox
and is correctly identified as a "Mozilla mailbox" by the tool.
The new message shows up in this file, with the following Mozilla headers:
X-Mozilla-Status: 0000
X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000
I am also monitoring an unrelated IMAP account, which works perfectly.

If i understand correctly, 0 means new msg as it doesn't appear at:
http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/mailnews/base/public/nsMsgMessageFlags.h
Is there a check in mail-notification not to show a email that is new in 2 distinct mailboxes?

No, it should just work. Check that the new message is appended to the file, and then paste the X-Mozilla-Status and X-Mozilla-Status2 headers (if any) of the message.

I'm trying to figure how to use Mozilla mailbox support.
I added the file:
/home/evilynux/.mozilla-thunderbird/vwdctqs0.default/Mail/Local Folders/Inbox.sbd/debian-amd64
It has been correctly detected as a Mozilla mailbox.
Now if I receive a new mail, i don't get a notice nor does it appear in the summary.
Did I miss something?
