Timed out. If needed, please resubmit this issue on the new bug tracker (https://bugs.launchpad.net/mail-notification/).

Check out http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311512
where you will find the same issue in evolution itself has now
been fixed.

Since mail-notification depends on dbus messages from evo
to know when to act, hopefully you should find that this bug
in mail-notification just goes away naturally.

I'm not sure if the mail-notification code that keeps its own record of message status can be simplified at all with the evolution fixes that are going in.

mail-notification's evolution connector should wait for evolution to filter messages and then report new mails. This behaviour would remove mail-notification's icon blink when message is removed from inbox after being recognized as spam.

If there is no way to detect evolution's filtering in progress, mail-notification could just wait for few seconds before reporting new message.
