Jean-Yves, I checked the RFC and you are absolutely right. Thank you for pointing that out. I've have other problems with this particular IMAP server (such as connection-timeout), and I'm now armed with more facts. I believe this is a "SurgeMail" IMAP server. Thanks again.

That server does not send the required (as per RFC 3501) untagged SEARCH response. I'll probably make the parser handle that in the next release.

If I have no unseen mail, and/or no recent mail, I receive an error. The "blink on error" feature always blinks because of this, and also gives: "unhandled IMAP mailbox (server did not send search results)".

Using --enable-info, the error is "reported an error: server did not send search results". Which is true, but I think it is meant to occur because there were no results to send.

I don't think there should be an error reported when there is no unseen and/or recent mail.

Perhaps mail-notification is expecting the IMAP server to send something like "0 search results"?

I have attached the IMAP log from --enable-info.
