Feedback request timed out.

As the external reset feature has been added before, it's
assumed to be fixed anyway.

The current code performs an external reset when the first
attempt without this did not work.

Would that solve your problem?

When using AVRDude with JTAGICEmkII, it would be nice if the programmed device would first be reset, before starting programming.
This is really useful if the JTAG pins are also used functionally and disabled in the firmware which is already programmed a previous time on the device. If it is not done by the programmer, you have to manually pull the reset down by pressing a button or something , if at all present on the target hardware.

When using the jtagiceii.exe utility supplied with AVRStudio, pulling down the reset can be enabled with a -R command line option. Not sure if this is really necessary, could be done always I guess.
