Attached a patch which solves all errors and warnings with gcc-4.3.
Patch applied and bug is fixed on cvs (not for HEAD yet).

Fixed the problem for the 0.8 branch, as well as all warnings. I must now port these changes to the 0.6 branch and to HEAD.

Maybe you could fix that too before official 0.8.0 release. I will do further testing after easter, to check, if these are all problems with the upcoming GCC version.
