this exact bug has been solved by removing hidden forbidden areas. a more diffuse "bug" is now showing up that makes globs spin for a very short time and then walk on. it's hard to determine what the right behavior would have to be in those cases and definitely is a different new bug if at all.

trapped globs can be freed by placing a spot of forbidden area nearby.

reproduce with warriors: place a big forbidden area on top of a warrior that is fighting inside a guard area.

p.s.: please make forbidden areas visible!

Its likely that it started spinning because of the hidden forbidden areas that where placed on other units that where spinning in their places. While the areas are removed instantly by units, it can take several ticks before the gradient is updated.

I'm not sure why this unit has continued to spin even after the hidden-forbidden areas removal. More info needed.

I've seen this behavior too. Random globs not being able to find their path out of a tight area after they are no longer trapped.

in the attached screenshot the marked unit keeps spinning while others walk next to it.

unfortunately after loading the save game this glob behaves normally.
