Crystals are made of pure carbon. Thus they can burn. This is not a bug.

By the way, the 2.4 will not have crystals any more. Making this case moot.

that happened when i was trying to assign an engineer to harvest crystals. I accidentally clicked on the attack button instead of the harvest button(i was drunk). several seconds later, i saw the crystal field burning in flames. at that moment, i saved the game to see what happened better. i loaded 1 day later, and the crystal field was still burning(i was NOT drunk that time). then, i assigned an artil to attack that crystal field. and 1 shot later, the crystal field was burning high... another shot and it vanished!
