Mon 02 Jul 2007 03:27:25 AM UTC, original submission:

@chown ${USER}:${USER} ${bindir}/kardsgt
fails because it evaluates to LOGNAME and their is no
group "$LOGNAME".
There are several of these commands in the install
script. The install script exited with error1 when
the first command attempted to execute.
To finish the install, I set up the local variables,
datadir, VERSION, etc, then executed the non-chmod
commands as root from that shell.
For my install the chmod commands weren't needed.
OS is OpenSuse10.2 and KDE 3.5.5 Release 45. Kernel is
2.6.18.2-34. Platform is i686 - 32 bit.
