Sorry for the late reply; from what I see the option parsing code hasn't been touched between 0.34 and 0.35.

Please recheck if the bug still exists in later mtn versions, if yes, please re-open this ticket. Thanks!

Sorry, I take my last comment back. The bug is NOT in 0.34; the
problem was that monotone wrote the incorrect file name ".../ate"
in _MTN/options and tried to reuse that.

Actually, 0.34 has part of the bug too!

mtn --full-version
monotone 0.34 (base revision: 6ae6de16b31495a773ac3002505ad51f2e4a8616)
Running on : Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 (5.1, build 2600, Service Pack 2) on ia32 (level 6, rev 3846)
C++ compiler : GNU C++ version 3.4.5 (mingw special)
C++ standard library: GNU libstdc++ version 20051201
Boost version : 1_33_1
Changes since base revision:
format_version "1"

new_manifest [34aa6f38c42c73d5542bafe2aa4514319a10a6bc]

old_revision [6ae6de16b31495a773ac3002505ad51f2e4a8616]

to [9e12861012024b1d891f81f9534e654577bf6663]

but:

mtn commit --date="2007-09-03T12:58:44"
mtn: misuse: database [path omitted]/ate does not exist

The windows binary from monotone.ca fails to parse long options; for example:

mtn --full-version:
mtn: misuse: option error: unknown option 'full-version'

mtn commit --date="2007-09-03T12:58:44"
mtn: misuse: database [path omitted]/ate does not exist

However, mtn --version, mtn --help work fine.

It looks like the bug affects all options that do not have a short form.

Bug introduced in 0.35 (not present in 0.34).
