Inactivity.
If the bug exists, please report us.

Try fuse-2.7.2glfs9 and glusterfs latest patchset before reporting bug.

Hans,
do you have any updates?

I've checked on another FreeBSD system. It has 2.7.0 in the ports collection and in the fuse source in lib/helper.c I see:

struct fuse_chan fuse_mount(const char mountpoint, struct fuse_args *args)

I'll check on the system I used before to see why it returns a file descriptor instead of a channel struct.

Anand, I've used the version from the FreeBSD ports collection, which seems to be 2.7.0. I can't check right now, but it should be 2.7.0.

Did it change from 2.7.0 to 2.7.1 ? Might be a good idea to have the configure script check the version of fuse.

Hans,
which version of fuse are you using? fuse_mount() used to return the fd in the older fuse API's. against which version of fuse are you trying glusterfs? the newer versions of the api returns a channel structure.

While trying to run glusterfs (1.3.7) on FreeBSD 6.2, I got a segfault when trying to mount. Looking into it, I noticed what seems to be a bug in glusterfs-fuse/src/fuse-bridge.c around line 1984.

The return value from fuse_mount is stored in a (struct fuse_chan *) called priv->ch. However, fuse_mount returns a file descriptor, so calling fuse_session_add_chan (..., priv->ch) leads to a segfault.

I've created a patch which solves the issue for me, which I will include below.

Kind regards,

Hans Allis
