What is even more strange: the old rpath trick works again.

Yes, that was libtool. Sorry for the noise.

I'm also suspecting libtool.

I am using global libtool due to rpath issues. Maybe this is related?

Very strange, no trace of a static lib on my machines. I'll investigate a bit further.

Hello,

in the process of cleaning up the Fedora RPM spec I found out that gchempaint always builds static libs. According to ./configure --help, these should be disabled by default. What is more, --disable-static does not change anything. FWIW, gchemutils work fine in this matter, i.e. no static libs are built by default.

Regards,
Julian
